The Green Story: Aucella Heating and Cooling
Aucella Heating and Cooling: Fueling a Smarter Home
Aucella is more than the average HVAC company. Not only do they offer a wide range of unique options for your heating and cooling needs, such as a smartphone-controlled thermostat, they won’t install anything into a home that functions at under 95% efficiency. A family business, founded by Fay and Jay Aucella, sells some of the highest efficiency heating and cooling systems on the market.
The business is accredited by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America as a residential service, installation contractor and a quality assured contractor. Aucella is ACCA® certified as an Energy Star® partner company. A majority of the systems they install qualify for utility rebates and energy tax credits. Aucella truly works for their customers, guiding them through the rebate process to ensure that it goes smoothly.
Eco-friendly heating and cooling may seem expensive, but the reality is the consumer consistently pays less over time because of reduced operating costs. “It’s simple: the more efficient the system, the lower the operating cost,” said Jay. Aucella calculates operating cost savings for each installation, comparing overall savings and payback periods, to the initial investment. With tax rebates, reduced operating costs, and superior products and services, Aucella’s customers always save money over time.
In addition to their efficient heating and cooling systems, Aucella has an impressive recycling program. They recycle all of their hazardous heating and vacuum pump oil. Aucella is also EPA Universal Certified to reclaim and recycle all used refrigerant. At the office, they recycle all cardboard, plastic, and metal from installations, maintenance, and replacements, and even use biodegradable coil cleaners for air conditioner maintenance. Accompanying their industry-leading recycling plans, Aucella also repurposes and reuses all furniture for their home office. All the furniture Jay and Fay own is secondhand. Their commitment to the environment encompasses all aspects of the company. Jay and Fay go as far as to allow their employees to take the company vans to their respective homes if closer to the work area.
Aucella also has deep roots within its local community. They sponsored their local school’s Parent Teacher Organization Spring Fling, which involved a night of dancing, a silent auction, and a dinner all to raise money for the school. Aucella also co-sponsored with Seacoast Energy an information session in July about the new Mini Wood Pellet Boilers. Jay and Fay even host a local Community Supported Agriculture program at their home – Brookford Farm drops off fresh produce on a weekly basis for members to pick up.
Fay and Jay Aucella live sustainably in every aspect of their lives. According to Fay, “It’s just part of who we are.”
Green Dreams: Aucella hopes to assist more families in the Seacoast area find more sustainable options to heat and cool their homes. They plan to continue their close connection with current customers while expanding their network. Jay and Fay will always only offer the best systems on the market. They plan on further investigating their eligibility to become a member of Seacoast Buy Local.
